Oil Soluble Cinnamon Flavoring

To make this Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting, start by beating softened butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar while mixing to create a thick, fluffy base. Stir in cinnamon extract, vanilla, and a pinch of salt for a warm, spiced flavor. Adjust the consistency with heavy cream or milk, then whip the frosting until light and airy. This frosting spreads and pipes beautifully and pairs well with vanilla, chocolate, carrot, or spice cakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1–1.5 tsp Cinnamon Flavoring / Extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Beat the Butter Place the softened butter in a large mixing bowl and beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes until creamy and smooth.
  2. Add Powdered Sugar Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed to prevent sugar dust, then increase to medium speed until fully combined.

  3. Add Flavoring Stir in the Cinnamon Flavoring, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until fully incorporated.

  4. Adjust Consistency Add heavy cream or milk one tablespoon at a time until the frosting reaches your desired spreading or piping consistency.

  5. Whip the Frosting Beat the frosting on medium-high speed for 1–2 minutes until light, fluffy, and airy.

  6. Use or Store Spread or pipe the frosting immediately onto cakes, cupcakes, or cookies.

  7. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week; rewhip before using.
