Pandan cupcakes

Test pandan flavor in cupcake batter, then pair with your preferred frosting. Batter and separately flavored frosting have separate dosing bases.

Development ideas, not kitchen-tested recipes. Confirm flavor, color, texture and yield before serving or scaling.

Measure first. Make it repeatable.

How much flavor goes in your cake batter?

Start at 0.3–0.6% of the unflavored base weight. Weigh the flavor and add it on top of that base.

Use the unflavored raw batter weight, not the baked cake weight. Calculate a separately flavored frosting or filling from that component’s own base weight.

Your 1 kg starting trial

1,000 g unflavored base
+ 3–6 g flavor

1,003–1,006 g after adding the flavor.

Blending flavors? The 3–6 g is the combined total, not the amount for each flavor.

Before your first batch

Pandan baking questions, answered.

How much pandan extract should I add to cake batter?

Start with 0.3–0.6% of the unflavored raw batter weight, added on top: 1.5–3 g for 500 g of batter or 3–6 g for 1,000 g. If you blend flavors, share that total between them. Evaluate the baked, cooled cake before adjusting or scaling.

Will this pandan extract make my cake green?

No added colors are included in this formula. Choose it for pandan flavor, not as a green food coloring. For a specific green finish, use a separate color suitable for baking and follow its directions.

Is this the same as pandan paste or leaf juice?

No. This concentrated water-soluble flavoring contains propylene glycol and natural and artificial flavors. Paste and leaf juice can contribute different amounts of liquid, sweetness and color. Do not replace them with equal volumes; keep the liquid and structure your recipe needs.

Can I use it in chiffon cake, sponge cake or cupcakes?

These are compatible application ideas to test in a water-containing batter. Start with an established recipe, disperse the measured flavor at the appropriate mixing stage, and evaluate the finished bake. The ideas on this page are not kitchen-tested recipes.

Can I use it in frosting or a cake filling?

Trial it only in a compatible water-containing component and calculate the amount from that component’s unflavored weight. Do not combine the cake and frosting weights when only one of them receives the flavor. Confirm compatibility before using it in a fat-based coating.

Is this an all-natural pandan formula?

The current ingredient declaration is propylene glycol, natural and artificial flavors. It is not presented here as an all-natural formula or a pandan leaf-juice product. Check the product details and documents for your ingredient requirements.
