Natural White Food Color - Water Soluble

This Whiten Frosting recipe creates a smooth, fluffy, and perfectly white buttercream ideal for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Using Natural White Food Color – Water Soluble Extract, this frosting achieves a bright, clean white tone without artificial dyes. The extract enhances the color naturally while maintaining a creamy vanilla flavor. Simply beat butter until light, mix in powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and a few drops of the natural white food color for a pure, snowy-white finish. Perfect for weddings, elegant desserts, or any time you need a brilliant white frosting with all-natural ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

  • 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar, sifted

  • 2–3 tablespoons whole milk (adjust for desired consistency)

  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

  • 4–6 drops Natural White Food Color – Water Soluble Extract (adjust to achieve pure white tone)

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (optional, to balance sweetness)

Directions

  1. Cream the butter: In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter on medium speed for 3–4 minutes until pale and fluffy.

  2. Add powdered sugar: Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.

  3. Add milk and vanilla: Pour in the vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of milk. Beat on medium speed until creamy and smooth.

  4. Add the natural white color: Mix in Natural White Food Color – Water Soluble Extract a few drops at a time. Continue beating until the frosting becomes bright white and silky.

  5. Adjust consistency: If too thick, add an additional tablespoon of milk; if too thin, add more powdered sugar.

  6. Use immediately or store: Spread over cooled cakes or cupcakes. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Re-whip before use if chilled.
