Cream Soda
These Vintage Cream Soda Extract Frosted Cookies are a nostalgic twist on classic brown-sugar drop cookies. The soft, buttery dough gets a sweet, creamy hint of soda from the cream soda flavor extract. Once baked to light golden-brown perfection, they're topped with a rich cream-soda–flavored frosting that accentuates the soda aroma and flavor. The result is a soft, aromatic cookie that marries comfort with whimsical soda-infused appeal.

blank
4 cups powdered sugar
⅔ cup shortening
2 tablespoons cream soda flavor extract
¼ cup water
Directions
Preheat & Cream Base: Preheat your oven to 400 °F (200 °C). In a large bowl, cream together brown sugar, butter, and shortening until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs & Flavor: Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in cream soda flavor extract to infuse dough with that nostalgic soda aroma.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Form Dough: Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with a splash of water if needed, until a soft, not-too-sticky dough forms.
Bake Cookies: Drop walnut-sized balls of dough onto ungreased or lined baking sheets. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are just set. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
Mix Frosting: Combine powdered sugar, shortening, cream soda extract, and water. Beat until smooth and fluffy, adjusting water to reach desired consistency.
Frost & Set: Generously frost cooled cookies. Let frosting set before serving—the cream soda flavor enchants with every bite.
