Oil Soluble Blood Orange Flavoring
These Blood Orange Candy Gummies deliver a chewy, bright, citrus-forward flavor with the help of premium Blood Orange Flavoring. The mixture uses gelatin, sugar, juice, and corn syrup to create a smooth, glossy gummy texture that sets perfectly in silicone molds. Once mixed and heated, the liquid gummy base is poured into molds, chilled until firm, and released for a batch of vibrant, homemade gummies that taste better than store-bought. This easy gummy recipe is perfect for parties, snacks, and candy gifts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup blood orange juice (fresh or bottled, strained)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (for brightness)
- 3 envelopes (21g total) unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1–1.5 tsp Blood Orange Flavoring / Extract
- 1–2 drops orange or red gel food coloring (optional)
Directions
1. Bloom the Gelatin
Pour the blood orange juice into a saucepan.
Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the surface (do not stir).
Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
2. Add Sweeteners
Add sugar, lemon juice, and corn syrup to the bloomed gelatin.
Gently whisk to combine.
3. Heat the Mixture
Warm over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar and gelatin completely dissolve.
Do not boil—remove from heat once smooth and steaming.
4. Add Flavor and Color
Stir in Blood Orange Flavoring and gel food coloring.
Mix well until evenly colored.
5. Pour Into Molds
Transfer the mixture to a heat-safe cup with a pour spout.
Carefully fill silicone molds to the top.
Tap molds lightly to release air bubbles.
6. Chill and Unmold
Refrigerate gummies for 1 hour or until fully set.
Pop gummies out of molds and store in an airtight container.
